Kids’ Activities during March Break – March 11-15, 2013

Our beloved Kids from different ages enjoyed (JK to G8) enjoyed multiple activities during March Break from Mar 11 to Mar 15, 2013.
 
Our beloved SMSJB Church organized the following trips and activities:
 
o LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre: G1 to G6
o Bowling and Lunch together: G7 & G8
o Sleepover Night @Church: G1 to G6
o Rainbow Park: JK & SK
 
Our beloved Kids had lots of fun and are seeking more trips during Summer Camp.

G7 and G8 Mission on March Break – March 15, 2013

Our beloved G7 and G8 group visited VIVA Retirement Home in Pickering on Friday March 15, 2013.
 
The main purpose of this visit was to show care and love to the Seniors’ people in our community and offer them joyful entertainment time.
 
This visit was full of activities: Cupcakes’ decoration, socialization and tour, performing 3 songs, attending Irish show there for St. Patrick’s Day, and music performance. Some of our kids opened an informative discussion with one of the Seniors’ member there who was involved in World War II.
 
It was a fruitful time for our kids.  They got another invite to visit that place in the near future.  We ask the Lord to bless their ministries and bless them.

Youth Mission @Trent University – March 01, 2013

Our Youth Group (G7 & G8, High School, University and Grads) participated on March 1st in a “Celebration of Black History and Culture” event at Trent University in Oshawa Campus in an effort to get people knowing and reminded about Jesus Christ the Savior and Holy Redeemer as well as knowing about the Coptic Church and her activities.
 
They prepared a flyer about the Coptic Black Saints to match with this event.  They displayed as well the clip of their Kenya Mission last summer.  G7 and G8 performed a couple of songs that delivered a valuable message about Humanity to match with this event on celebrating Humanity.
 
It was a blessed opportunity to expose our Church to Durham Community and attract Youth from multi-culture to visit our Church and know Jesus Christ.

Youth Outreach Fundraising – February 02, 2013

Our beloved Youth Group (Grads, University and High School) organized a Youth Outreach Fundraising event to leverage the required funds for the Gym’ project at St. John the Beloved’s Building.
 
They made a significant effort to prepare the invites, book the place, prepare the dinner and establish an exciting program.  They managed to leverage a big shunk of the required funds dedicated to this project.
 
On their behalf, we would like to thank everyone who participated in this event and special thanks to our Youth Organizers.  God reward you all many folds.

Kids’ Christmas Presentation and Celebration – January 20, 2013

The Sunday Schools Kids (JK to G8) organized and celebrated the Christmas party.  They invited the Congregation and their friends to enjoy their special program in this blessed event.
 
They performed multiple skits as follows:
+ Angels to G2: Christmas Skit
+ G3 and G4: God Will Always Win
+ G5 and G6: Christmas Around the World
+ G7 and G8: SMSJB Newsroom
 
In addition, G1 and G2 performed some spiritual songs as well as G3 to G6.  Fr. Daniel distributed Christmas gifts to all our beloved Kids.  The celebration ended by a prayer, followed by cake time.

St. John the Beloved’s Vesper Prayers – January 11-12, 2013

Our beloved Church prayed and celebrated St. John the Beloved’s feast – Our Saint’s Church Patron.

We prayed the Vesper prayers, followed by St. John the Beloved’s glorification, zaffa, sermon and aghapy. Fr. Youhanna Ramzy led us in the Vesper Prayers and offered us words of benefit.

We ask the Lord through the prayers and blessings of St. John the Beloved our patron to bless our Church, our Congregation, our Community and all our Church’s ministries.

Christmas Eve and Divine Liturgy (Nativity Feast) – January 06/07, 2013

Our beloved Church celebrated the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Incarnate God in the Flesh from the virgin St. Mary. Jeremiah the prophet said, “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise to David a Branch of Righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

In this blessed feast, our beloved Church prayed the Christmas Divine Liturgy, followed by Aghapy at St. John’s Building.

All the families united together with love, having Aghapy and congratulated each other for the Nativity Feast.

We ask the Lord to fill our lives and hearts with joy and peace; and grant us many returns of this feast, filled with the blessings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Who came for our salvation.

New Year Eve Dec 31, 2012 – Jan 01, 2013

Happy and Blessed New Year 2013.  Our beloved Congregation came together to praise the Lord and thank Him for everything in the past year 2012.

We started by the Kiahk Praises, followed by the Midnight Prayers and the Kids’ Choirs.  In addition the Seniors’ Choir performed a couple of spiritual songs followed by Fr. Daniel’ sermon that delivered a new message for the new year:  ”

We prayed at the end the New Year Divine Liturgy and got Aghapy together right after.  May the new Year brings Joy, Peace and Blessings to you and your family.

Family Trip to Niagara Falls – December 24-26, 2012

Our Family Meeting organized a Family trip during Christmas Break from Dec 24 to Dec 26, 2012 to Niagara Falls.  They invested the time in getting together, having fun and established a couple of sessions talking about the seven habits of highly effective families, specifically focusing in two habits: Be proactive and set your priorities.  These discussions will be resumed in the Family Meeting (Last Saturday of each month).
 
Given that some of the Youth group joined that trip too, Abouna set up another session for them focusing in brief on how to be an effective teen.
 
We thank God for the time and looking forward to the next Family trip.

Youth Christmas Celebration – December 21, 2012

Our beloved Youth Group had their own Christmas Celebration “Secret Santa” on Dec 21, 2012 @Church.
Santa offered a gift for each member in the Youth Group.  It was an awesome time and awesome Santa too.
 
Please join the Youth Group Meeting “Y for C Meeting” each Friday from 08:00 PM to 09:30 PM.
